first off - does anyone know where to go for info on PHP with flash? I bought a book, 'server-side flash' and it really sucks. if anyone could give me a link or two, i'd appreciate it.

second, and more specifically, can you echo more than one variable in a script? if so, how? ...cause i'm having a lot of trouble with it.

Difference between eval () and _root[] ?

Well, the title says it all.

The thing is : I never got that eval () function to work. I've seen it quite a couple of times in fla though, but whenever I want to use it, it just won't work.

Hi, I'm using the scrollable Textbox thingy for a webpage I'm making. The problem I have is that my buttons are in a movie clip that are 1 level lower than my scrollableText box. So when I add actions to my buttons to change the scrollableText variable, what do i do? I tried.
On release _root.scrollableText = "blah"
but that didn't work. i also tried scrollableText = "blah" that didn't work.

How To Keep Fonts Clear (edited title)

hey, i have a ?.
every time i do the text scrolling thing, although it works it always ends up looking different than the rest of the regular normal text(the static text).
ive tried leaving it as the same font and the same size but it always changes. it looks more pixelated than usual.

any tips ??.

Menu moving according to mouse position (edited title)

What I'm trying to do is the yugop menu, the one that goes bigger when your mouse goes up, goes left with the mouse and everything. I've seen the post in the Best of Kirupa.com forum, but there's a problem : I can't make my menu continuous. Even if I put 10 menus side by side, there's a point where the menu disappears.
Anyone knows how to solve that ?
I don't get what Supra means by

here i go with another very basic question:
i made a button called "bverde" - the name the button has on the library - and want to set its visibility to "0"
i wrote the following action:

but it doesnt work at all, i mean, the button keeps visible in the main movie

relative mouse movement

this will make a movie follow the mouse ... how can I make the movie move
the same distance away from the mouse so that the two are lined up in the
middle but as I move the mouse to one side the movie travels and equal
distance to the other side. Any help anyone can give me would be great.

I have an array set up with a list of values which are actualy button positions in a movie clip......I know how to get the first or last values of the array, but what I need help on is creating a code to get the _x position of the clip and then access the array list to jump to the nearest button position in the movie clip......I hope I'm making sence.....
