Hi every one I am a newbie flash user. I currently got Flash 5 from a friend and have learned how to do some basic animations. I am making a couple of animations for my sisters wedding and am having troubles with when I go to export it in .avi format. When I export in .avi it keeps the dash lines around the text boxes. When I export it to .swf it does not have this problem. If some one has a solution short of drawling the text on, I would love to know how to fix this.

Advanced Rollover Button Tutorial.

Ok, hey guys i just got through reading and following the Rollover tutorial for the Advanced Rolls, now the tut worked fine. everythign went through. but nwo when i tried recreating this. i came across two problems.

1. i am Using action script 2.0, i run Flash cs4, is this ok?

2. i want the Buttons, to play a SWF file that i have on rollover. and NOT disappear afterwards. like seen on the webpage collarity.com. I thought i had it workign but it just doesnt seem to want to...

Hi I made a memory game, but the cards will not shuffle everytime I open it because they are put on the stage directly. Controlling main timeline from animated button

Hi, I have a small Flash animation in which I try to send the main timeline to a specific frame from an animated button.
I have an animated button that does some graphic stuff (that is actually right out of a tutorial from this site) and then, at the end, I have a frame with the following code to send the action to to frame 10 in the main timeline.
MovieClip(root).gotoAndPlay(10);

It works ok, except for 2 things:

Hey there ... ive managed to create a shared object and write the name back when i revisit my home page ... but i want to be able to recall the name in another scene in the movie ... does anyone know if this is possible or is it only possible to call the object back in the page its created!

I want to display the name to reward the user for reaching a level!

There is a typo in this awesome code you wrote.
The frame three line has an X in the Y variable.

It should read.
_root["char"+ii]._y = nYstart + nLNumber * nLSpace

Ok, I made my second movie (my first was a disaster) and I need some help. First, how do I make buttons or however you wanna say so, like when you open the movie its a black screen and sits there and you must click play? Like when you go to newgrounds, and it loads, then theres a play button, how do I do that? And second, I would like to add sounds, where can I find midis/free sounds and can someone post a tutorial for me? Also, how do I host it? Like is their a thing like Imageshack.us but...
